THE BREAKFAST CREW

BREAKFAST FOR THE BROTHERS

The Jackson Triumph men had a fantastic Father's Day celebration. Under the direction of the Praise Dancers Director, (Sis. TaWanda Hawkins) and her committee, and the local Minister of Music, (Sis. Gerald Reed),  and her committee the Praise Dancers and the Youth Choir cooked and served the Brotherhood Breakfast on Saturday 18, 2011, as a Pre-Father's Day recognition.

Our lovely ladies--including the youth arrived on the grounds of the Family Life Center approximately 6:30 AM on Saturday morning;  I am lead to believe that most of the brothers were still in bed at that time. When the brothers arrived, they were introduced to an aroma of bacon, eggs, biscuits, coffee, sausage, pan cakes, orange juice and other breakfast foods.

And all the men had to do was take a seat, write their name on the menu that had been placed on the table in front of each chair, check the food items on the menu that they desired to be served,  and give it to the young waitress.

After filling out their menu, the men socialized and waited to be served.

It was a very enjoyable event and I am taking  this opportunity to speak for all the brothers: THANKS SPECIAL WOMEN OF GOD FOR MAKING THIS A MEMORABLE FATHER'S DAY. click for photos

DISTRICT AND WOMEN CONFERENCE

During the first week of June the 3rd District East Conference was held in Jackson, Mississippi, under Apostle Moses Gibson. Members came from throughout the state of Mississippi and Louisiana to help make this conference a success. There were attendees from New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

The format for this four day conference was presented as usual, consisting of worship service, honoring officials, and classes. Because of the attendance, which was very good, I believe each attendant was blessed in one way or another. It is hopeful that something was said or done that was taken back to other local churches and used for improvement.

The theme of the conference: "SEEK RENEWAL OF YOUR FAITH IN GOD"

The theme for the class was: ARE WE PRACTICING WHAT WE SAY WE BELIEVE?

Be on the lookout for information featuring the activities of Jackson's Life and Living Choirs.

One of Triumph's pioneers was called home to be with the Lord a few days ago; Mother Lula B. George, a great pioneer in this TRIUMPH CHURCH was eulogized on Sunday, June 26, 2011 in Vossburg, Mississippi.

Mother George gave her life to this Triumphant Church until she became ill and was no longer able to physically get around.

She will be missed, but her spirit will live forever in the heart of this Triumph Church.

Our continued thoughts of love and prayer are with the family.

TRIUMPH VILLAGE GRADUATION

In the midst  of the packed sanctuary with parents, grandparents, and relatives, our young graduates marched into the sanctuary and  presented an enjoyable program.

These small graduates had been rehearsing and preparing for this night for several days.  It was evident that the teachers and staff of Triumph Village love the children and  take their positions seriously.

Camcorders and cameras were seen throughout the sanctuary as parents documented this yearly event.

Some of the events that made this an enjoyable program were  songs and recitals presented by the graduates.

Prior to presenting certificates to the graduates, Apostle and Mother Gibson were honored as founders of Triumph Village and for their many years of support. click for photos

A visit to CHUCK E. CHEESE.

If you want to see some excited and happy children, take them to Chuck E. Cheese.

A few days before the close of school, many of the village children spent the day--approximately 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM having fun at Chuck E. Cheese.

I arrived about 10:00 AM for a photo session with the children. To my surprise this new building was much larger than the older building, and there appeared to be children everywhere throughout the building.  My first thought was how a I going to identify and photograph our children.

Several staff members, and most parents were new to me but thanks to Mrs. Nancy Shelby, (the office manager) for mentally taking me by the hand, leading me around, and identifying our children.

The children had finished their snacks before I got there, but they had not finished enjoying their rides and other activities within their surrounding.

I observed several teachers and staff members enjoying some of the activities. Since I had not been there before, I enjoyed observing the children having fun, the photo session, and the snack Mrs. Lindsey so gracefully provided for me. click for photos

THIS IS A,
Question to those that are considering running for the Chief Apostle Position;

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE THE CHIEF APOSTLE AND WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE PREVIOUS ONES?

I would appreciate it, if our site visitors would  get this question in the hand of those apostles that are not computer users.

Also, I would like to put their answer  and agenda on this site.  Apostles, let me hear from you

possibly within the next two weeks

TRIUMPH VILLAGE AWARD'S DAY

Striving for excellence should be the goal of all students. And that is the position that Triumph Village teachers and staff are instilling in the students at Triumph Village.

Approximately a week before the close of Triumph Academy the honor awards day was held.

This was a happy day for many students and parents. Several students were presented awards more than once for achievement in various  activities.

DERRICK RELOCATES

Brother Derrick Gibson, our recent graduate of Higher Learning is now a resident of the state of Missouri. He along with his parents--Chris and Jeniffer Gibson packed his things, rented a u-haul, and headed to O'Fallon, Missouri.

Derrick will be employed with MasterCard Technologies and will be working on the Global Files Transfer team, which handles the transferring of files between MasterCard and its customers (banks and merchants)

Since this is Derrick's first time of being away from home and family for an extended period of time, he is learning to do some grown-up things, such as shop for grocery,  cooking, and taking care of other household chores.

THE ANNUAL COOKOUT

Shepherd and Assistant State Mother Helen Walker held her annual cook-out a few weeks ago.

As usual, family, friends and associates came from throughout the community to fellowship and enjoy a meal that was prepared with love.

Not only did the participants enjoy a good meal, some won prizes from the bingo game. The games and the meal were topped off with two songs by Mother Walker and the YMCA members

The food was good, the fellowship was good, and the participation was good; what would a party be if no one came?

A special thanks to Mother Walker and her staff.
