Our Purpose

To deepen the spiritual life of man through the Holy Word of God so that he might obtain the highest state of wisdom and power
that will lead to the perfection of the individual in this life as true believers of God Divine.

What We Believe

We believe that Jesus' blood was shed for the remission of our sins (Roman3;5), the regeneration of penitent sinners, and salvation from sin and sinners.
(1 John 5:10, Eph. 1:1-10)

We further believe that Jesus' blood was shed for sin, and that Christ dwells in the heart and mind of the justified believers completely cleanse him from all indwelling sin, and from its pollution subsequent to regenerate.
(Romans 3:24-28.)

We believe that entire sanctification is an instantaneous, definite, second work of grace obtainable by faith on the part of the full consecrated believer.

We also believe that the entire sanctification destroys and eradicates the desire to sin.
 (Romans 6:6, Hebrews 13:12; 1John 1:29; St. John 17:17-19; Isaiah 6:18; Thessalonians 5: 23; Acts 26:18; Romans 3:24-26; Ephesians 4:5).

We believe that the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire is obtainable by a definite appropriation of faith on the part of the fully cleaned believer. (Matthew 3:11). The experience of fire is dependent on the Holy Ghost. We believe in one Lord, one Faith, and one Baptism as recorded in Ephesians 4:5, for the divine baptism of God is two fold with the Holy Ghost and fire.

We believe in divine healing of the total person as the atonement
(Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:16-18; James 5: 15-20; Luke 11:14).

We believe in the second coming of Christ, individuals becoming aware of the Christ as a continuous  development that leads to or into perfection,
according to the revealed light of the scriptures.
(St. John 14:19, 1John 4: 1-8; Revelation 14:6; II Corinthians 5:16; Matthew 5: 48.)

Triumph The Church And Kingdom Of God In Christ is utterly oppose to all doctrine that is contrary to God's written and revealed word
as it relates to the basis of union.

All members of Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ are granted the authority to worship God according to the dictation of their consciousness, within the everlasting gospel subject to the regulation of the church and the kingdom.

THE REVELATION

Triumph The Church And Kingdom Of God In Christ was revealed to Elias Dempsey Smith in 1897. Elder Smith a Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, who had fulfilled his aspirations of its curriculum, sought a deeper truth.  His inner soul longed for something, he knew not what.  He was lead by the Spirit of God to re-read the Holy Bible, namely the books of Isaiah, Revelations, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, and Daniel.  Many new interpretations, revelations and visions were given on these scriptures.  It was during a trip across the Mississippi river in a row boat that a strange phenomenon happened; Triumph was birthed!

The first church was organized in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 20, 1902.  The doors officially opened at 12 o'clock noon, January 20, 1904. Since 1897, the church has spread throughout the United States and West Africa.

JACKSON'S CHURCH

In the early 1940's, Elder Jack Johnson, the first shepherd, purchased a lot at 1775 Booker street for the building of Jackson's church. There were approximately ten members that had joined the Triumph Church organization; they held services in Pearl, Mississippi.

In 1945 Jackson's Triumph Church was built at 1775 Booker Street, under the leadership of Elder Jack Johnson, the Shepherd, and Elder Percy Gibson, a gifted carpenter, along with the managers and supporters. The congregation moved from Pearl, Mississippi to Jackson, Mississippi.

In the late 50's, the church at 1775 Booker Street was completely renovated by Elder Percy Gibson, who was then the Shepherd. The old building was turned on the back side of the lot and used a dining area, Shepherd's office, and bathrooms for the men and women. A new sanctuary was beautifully constructed on the front of the old lot. The new sanctuary had a seating capacity of approximately 125 people.

The Triumphant Saints worshiped at this location approximately forty-one years. During this time several improvements were made to the church.

Another Revelation

In 1985 the Lord revealed to Elder Moses Gibson, the Shepherd, "it was time to move." In 1986 the membership moved to its present location at 5302 Queen Mary Lane.

The first service in the new sanctuary was held January 1, 1986.

Since moving to the new location, the Lord has blessed tremendously. The membership has grown physically and spiritually. Many  facilities have been added. Because of the many blessings the Lord has bestowed upon the saints since moving, our current location is often  referred to as the "blessed corner."
