Midday message excerpts by Mother Logie Dismuke - August 29, 2010

Sunday August 29, 2010

Elder Martha Gibson exalted Spiritual Praise, as she led the congregation in singing  “We Worship Christ Our Lord” – “ Wonderful”  “What Did You Do With Your Life Today” and “God Is Power.” As the saints were engulfed in praises the call was made for altar prayer and Elder J. R. Russell prayed the intercessory prayer while the people were assembled at the altar.  After prayer Elder Martha Gibson read the scripture from 1st Corinthians 15: 1 with spiritual enlightened elucidation.  The Choir ministered in song, singing “Prayer Still Works” led by Sister Tammie Davis: (a new members making her debut as a lead singer in the choir)  and “So Glad He Loves Me” led by Sister Gerald Reed.”
Following the Choir, Apostle Moses Gibson came forward in preparation for the morning message. He came forth with thanks to God for the service this far and being blessed to attend the Bishop’s meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to Elder J. R. Russell whom God has placed love and compassion in his heart to drive him to his meetings as needed. Also, his wife Prophetess Russell, who supports him with his commitment to be his driver.  God  knows what we need and the time we need it. After preliminaries, he requested someone to read the following scripture and spoke briefly from it.

Follow peace  with all men, and holiness without,  which no man  shall see the Lord. Hebrew 12: 15.

According to the speaker when  the word tells us to follow peace with all men, this means “w-o-m-e-n” too. This means you got to be Holy because this is the only way you will be able to seek peace with all men and women. You must humble yourself and overcome spiritual  wickedness in high places; because if you a holy ghost filled individual, people will antagonize you and cause you to sin. Therefore, the Bible tells us to put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the devil.  It lets us know we are not wrestling against flesh and blood but spiritual wickedness in high places.  This is why God says be holy,  for I am holy. We know that spiritual wickedness is everywhere but we can’t conform to this world. The Devil is constantly trying to sell you his evil deeds, if he does not sell you one evil trick, he will try another and another until he tricks you.        He will constantly bring temptation, but you must have the Holy Ghost because this gives you the power to resist all the temptation he brings. The word tells us to sanctify yourself. You may ask, how do I sanctify myself? Simply begin to clean your life up from all the things you know are not pleasing to God.  Put away all evil acts and strive to live like the Lord. There is a song that say, “some day I’ll be like the Lord.
