Excerpts By Mother Logie Dismuke

Sister Dorothy McLin and Sister Jo Ann Knowles ushered in anointed praises as Sister McLin led the congregation in singing “It’s In My Mind ” and “Take The Lord Along With You.” After the songs, the call was made for prayer and Elder Linda Jones petitioned the throne of God in prayer while the people were assembled at the altar.  Sister Dorothy continued song service singing “I Know It Was The Blood” and Sister Knowles read the scripture from Psalm 23, verses 1-6.  Also time was allowed for sharing testimony praise and thanks to God for His many blessings by Sister Dorothy McLin. She shared her thanks for God blessing her to be serving as devotional leader and having a mother who trained her in this triumphant  way; while her mother is no longer with us; the things she taught is instilled within.

Sister Dorothy Seaton shared her thanks for God blessing her to celebrate her birthday with the Triumph Family on last weekend, and Sister Evelyn Palmer also shared her praise and thanks for God’s blessings. After the testimonies Elder Martha Gibson called for tithes and offerings and prayed the offertory prayer. Sister Tischonia Hawkins came forward with the announcements, recognition of visitors, birthdays/anniversaries and the congregation sang “Happy Birthday to those celebrating the same. Sister Gwendolyn Norwood presented a gift to  Sister Kayla Adams from the usher board in recognition of her birthday.

The “Life and Living Sanctuary Choir sang “If I Can’t Say Word” with Sister Juanake Taylor lead singer. After the choir the “Heart of An Angels Praise Dancers” blessed the audience with an African style performance to commemorate “Black History Month.”  Following the choir, Apostle Moses Gibson presented the speaker for the morning.

Our speaker was Elder Martha Gibson. She came forward giving praises to God while telling the audience sometime there are thing beyond our control-understanding and comprehension. However, it is hoped that you get something when you come here that will make your life better. We must embellish the “word” so we can get rid of those things that are not edifying  to our spiritual growth. We must tune into where God is now, and learn where or who is “up” and who is “down” When we get to that place we will be able to pick one up who is down i.e. the saints that are seasoned in the anointing of God’s divine spirit. We must stop trying to operate in middle ground or part “spiritual” and part “worldly” Can You imagine how much  stronger we will be spiritually?  God promised us in His word we can speak to the issues in our life.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; For creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, where unto thou has attained. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity  1st  Timothy 4 chapter, and verses 1,4,5,6,and 12.

According to the speaker, in these passages of scripture, Paul is calling upon us to be role models.  Whether we want to be or not, we are all role models. So the question is an individual one, WHAT KIND OF EXAMPLE AM I?" When we personalize the question, we are not looking outside ourselves for the answer.  Paul reminds us in the first verse that the Spirit would speak expressly in latter time and some would depart from their faith, and give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.  But as Believers in the Body of Christ, and as Triumphians, we can't worry about the things we don't understand.....If we are going to worry about anything, then let it be with the things YOU DO understand and ARE NOT doing!  For you are setting an example for somebody, and since you know that you should always be making a conscious effort to the things that will be edifying, and uplifting in the way of God.  Our families, our friends the world at large, and God Himself are watching us, so we need to remain focused and set the greatest example possible in times like these.  We are still learning.  Your individual light is going to be the only light that someone will ever see, so be about the Father's business in making sure you are setting a good example.

God we thank you for your word on today, and we ask that the words our ears have heard will sanction itself in our spirit so that we may be a great example and a positive light to a dying and sinful world.

“God bless  our speaker for such a profound word; take heed least any man deceive you”
