Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ
was revealed to Bishop E. D. Smith in 1897. In his vision he saw several
symbols, a bride dressed in white, representing the purity of the
church, an eagle, representing the height of this gospel, and a lion
representing the strength of this gospel. The revelation was revealed to
Bishop Smith in Robinsonville, Mississippi and the first church building
was constructed in New
Orleans, LA.
Since 1897 Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ
has spread throughout the United States and West Africa.
JACKSON'S CHURCH
In early 1940 Elder Jack Johnson, the first shepherd, purchased
a lot at 1775 Booker street for the building of Jackson's church. There were
approximately ten members that had joined the Triumph Church organization; they
held services in Pearl, Mississippi.
In 1945 Jackson's Triumph Church was built at 1775 Booker
Street, under the leadership of Elder Jack Johnson, the Shepherd, and Elder
Percy Gibson, a gifted carpenter, along with the managers and supporters. The
congregation moved from Pearl, Mississippi to Jackson, Mississippi.
In the late 50's, the church at 1775 Booker Street was completely
renovated by Elder Percy Gibson, who was then the shepherd. The old
building was turned on the back side of the lot and used for the dining
area, shepherd's office, and bathrooms for the men and women. A new
sanctuary was beautifully constructed on the front of the old lot. The
new sanctuary had a seating capacity of approximately 125 people.
The Triumphant Saints worshiped at this location
approximately forty-one years. During this time several improvements
were made to the church.
Another Revelation
In 1985 the Lord revealed to Elder Moses Gibson, the shepherd,
"it was time to move." In 1986 the membership moved to its present location at
5302 Queen Mary Lane.
The first service in the new sanctuary was held January 1, 1986.
Since moving to the new location, the Lord has blessed
tremendously. The membership has grown, physically and spiritually. Many
physical facilities have been added. Because of the many blessings the Lord has
bestowed upon the saints since moving, our current location is often
referred to as the "blessed corner."
